and http://www.jigzone.com/ has some pretty fun puzzles and can even upload your own photo to make your own crazy puzzles

O.K. So I played Bejeweled, Library Aracde and Minewseeper. I really enjoyed Bejeweled. Library Arcade was fun as well. I was gaming for 15 minutes and didn't even realize it. The time flew!

I have watched my youngest dayghter sit and play games for hours on the computer and was amazed that she just kept going. Now that I have played a few games I can see how it can be addictive. I loved it. I did a number of various types of solitaire and match games, jigsaw puzzles and then I played bejeweled. That game I could play for a long time.

I have seen my daughter play Bejeweled on her cell phone but I never really looked to see what she was doing. I had fun with this. I could see this being a stress reliever for me. I thought LeafRider under AllGirlArcade would be great for a mouse tutorial for beginning computer users because you
control her by using the mouse.

I liked the Free Rice game best. I tried the Puzzle Pirates and although it is really fun it takes more free time than I have so I prefer the instant gratification of the Free Rice game. I tried to get into Scrabulous but it wouldn't work. In my free time I may try some of the others so that I may have a few more to suggest to anyone who may ask about online games.

I played BlackJack Squares solitaire and Hearts. I've played Hearts before via YahooGames, but this version was "cuter" and probably more inviting to kids. The music was a little annoying, but not necessary to play, so I just muted it. The BlackJack Squares game was neat. I'm no mathematical wizard, so trying to have rows and columns of cards add up to 21 (or close to it) was difficult. I'm sure there's a strategy, but I have no clue what it could be. I'm no good at Sudoku either, so go figure.
I plan to check out more of these online games because most of the kids who come in to the library at recess or before school use the computers to "play."

The best way to promote a game is to have a book to read about it. How special games are from scrabble to solitaire I like them.

I am not very good at gaming...my son is the pro on that! I played jigsaw puzzles and bejeweled. I like bejeweled and will probably (in my spare time!) play that one again!

I dabbled around with some of the more in depth games with this exercise, but I'm still stuck to solitare, minesweep, etc haha.
One game I found that I really like is Salom, on FreeArcade.com. It's basically a jet-dodges-objects game, but it really keeps you focused and sharp. It's definitley a good coffee mate when you have to wake up early.

my faorite online game is conquerclub.com where you can play the boardgame classic Risk, only its on user created maps. You can also play a game of Mafia in the forums.
I tried to play Runescape but our firewall blocks pretty much all games now :(

I played spider solitaire online and loved it. It's addictive.
Tried Runescape and I have to say I did not like it at all. It seemed like such a rough user interface way to much clicking to walk around.

I learned more about playing backgammon. It is played with checkers and you need to learn need words like gammon, foom. I tried the chess also.

I really like freerice.com. I especially like that I can change the subject matter from words(which I'm pretty good at) to something I'm not so good at(like math). Plus, donating food is good.
I also tried Gaia Online. Creating the profile was fun, and the walk-through is really cute. I haven't figured out how to actually fight anyone in a kung fu challenge yet, though.
I don't know if this counts as online gaming since you actually have to download, but I've found a place where I can play all my favorite old DOS games from childhood: http://www.dosgames.com/
