Why I joined the Baker's Dozen learning program: It's free and on work time and I need it.
What I want to get out of the program: A whole lot more techno literacy than I have now. I-Pods, cell phones, blackberrys. Don't they do all the same stuff?
Where I work (include library name and city): City of Mesa Library.
What I do for my library: I'm a part-time reference librarian. My duties also include maintaining part of the collection and running a book club. I retired in 2001 from Phoenix Public Library.
Favorite book or author: It was always Ellen Gilchrist, but I didn't like her latest novel.
What else you should know about me: My time is spent practicing classical piano, road biking, dog tending, and socializing. I'm also a big opera fan, hence the Brunhilde avatar. I used to read a lot more when I worked full time, but not that I've more time to pursue other interests I find that I've actually got less time to read!
The top photo is a Yahoo look-alike image of my dog Dingo. He just had his second ACL surgery last month. In another month he'll be able to go hiking again with me.
