Why I joined the Baker's Dozen learning program: I keep hearing about and running in to these Web 2.0 technologies. When I heard about this program, I thought it sounded like a friendly environment to learn and experiment with some of these technologies at my own pace.
What I want to get out of the program: I hope to become comfortable using these technologies. I don't expect to be an expert, but I hope to be able to assist someone with or take part in a discussion that involves these technologies.
Where I work (include library name and city): I work at the Billie Jane Baguley Library and Archives of the Heard Museum in Phoenix.
What I do for my library: I am the Library Assistant at a special research library. I get to try my hand at just about every function of the library, because the library staff only consists of myself and the Library Director.
Favorite book or author: One of my most favorite authors is John Steinbeck, although I haven't had a chance to read anything by him lately.
What else you should know about me: I am also a graduate student in the UofA SIRLS program. After this fall semester, I will be halfway through the degree program. It had been over twenty years since my undergrad degree when I started back to school. I am enjoying the process, although it is a lot of work. As I recently heard an artist at the museum say about his craft, I, too, hope to always remain teachable.
